Exchange Control (General) (Amendment) Order, 2014 (No. 5)


IT is hereby notified that the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has, in terms of section 40 of the Exchange Control Regulations, 1996, and with the approval of the Minister of Finance made the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Exchange Control (General) (Amendment) Order, 2014 (No. 5)
2 Section 13 of the Exchange Control (General) Order, 1996, published in Statutory Instrument 110 of I 996 (hereinafter referred to as the "principal order") is amended in subsection ( l) by the deletion in paragraph (c) of "ten thousand United States dollars" and by the substitution of "five thousand United States dollars".
3. Section 14 of the principal order is amended in paragraph (b) by the deletion of "ten thousand United States dollar" and the substitution of "five thousand United States dollars".
4. The principal order is amended by the insertion, after section 14 of the following section- "14A. (I) An authorised dealer may, on its own behalf or on its own account, repatriate any amount of foreign currency.
(2) An authorised dealer who repatriates foreign currency in terms of subsection (l) shall ensure that the currency to be repatriated is secured in accordance with any standards that the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe shall prescribe.
(3) The foreign currency being repatriated in terms of subsection (1) shall be specified in a certificate issued by an officer of the authorised dealer for that purpose by the Reserve Bank in terms of section 42 of the Exchange Control Regulations, 1996, Statutory lnstrument 109 of 1996 ."
