SI 2020-100 Customs and Excise (Tariff) (Amendment) Notice, 2020 (No. 16)

IT is hereby notified that the Minister of Finance and Economic Development has, in terms of section 225 of the Customs and Excise Act [Chapter 23:02], made the following notice—
1.
(1) This notice may be cited as the Customs and Excise (Tariff) (Amendment) Notice, 2020 (No. 16).
(2) This notice shall be effective from 5th May, 2020.
2. Part II of the Second Schedule of the Customs and Excise (Tariff) Notice, 2017, published in Statutory Instrument 53 of 2017 is amended by the repeal of the following:—

Demolitions : Who is Responsible?

Municipal police and council officials have been demolishing market stalls and illegal cabins in the greater Harare area, particularly in high-density suburbs.  The demolitions are intended to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, but it is not clear who made the decision to carry them out.

SI 2020-094 Public Health (COVID-19 Prevention, Containment and Treatment) (National Lockdown) (Amendment) Order, 2020 (No. 4)

This SI was gazetted on 21st April by the Minister of Minister of Health and Child Care.  It is the fourth amendment to the principal National Lockdown Order, SI 83/2020 issued by the Minister on 30th March [link to consolidated version of SI 83 as amended by SIs 84 and 86 and 93].

IT is hereby notified that the Minister of Finance and Economic Development has, in terms of section 81 of the Banking Act [Chapter 24:20], as read with section 31 of that Act, and with the approval of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe as required by subsection (5) of that section, made the following regulations:—
1. These regulations may be cited as the Banking (Savings Interest Rates) Regulations, 2020.
