            CHITAPI J: The applicant was convicted of the offence of rape as defined in s 65 of the Criminal Law (Codification & Reform Act) [Chapter 9:23] by the Regional Magistrate on 2 May 2018. He was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment with 2 years suspended for 5 years on conditions of good behaviour. The applicant was dissatisfied with the judgment and sentence. He noted an appeal against both conviction and sentence on 8 May 2018. The appeal is pending determination before this court.
