The Private Voluntary Organisations Amendment Bill

The Private Voluntary Organisations Amendment Bill completed its Committee Stage in the National Assembly yesterday afternoon.  Amendments proposed by the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs were all adopted by the Committee, amendments proposed by opposition Members were all rejected.  The Bill has now been referred to the Parliamentary Legal Committee for its opinion on the constitutionality of the Bill as amended.

The Assembly’s Votes and Proceedings, setting out the amendments agreed to, was not issued until late this morning.  When we have had time to study them we shall issue a further bulletin on the Bill.
