[CONSTITUTION

Assignment of Functions (Office of the President and Cabinet) Notice, 2014

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the President, in terms of section 104(1) of the Constitution, as read with section 37(2) of the Interpretation Act [Chapter 1:01], has assigned to the Office of the President and Cabinet —

(a) the administration of the Acts set out in the Schedule and;

(b) the functions conferred or imposed on the Office of the President and Cabinet,  save to the extent that those functions have not been assigned to some other Minister.

The Assignment of Functions (Vice-Presidents) Notice, 2010, published in Statutory Instrument 49 of 2010, is repealed.

SI 49/2010, purportedly repealed by this notice, was actually repealed and replaced by SI 162/2012, which added the Radiation Protection Act to the list of Acts to be administered by the Office of the President and Cabinet, and repeated the list notified by SI 49/2010.  The complete list of Acts given by SI 162/2012 was:

  • Honours and Awards Act
  • Interception of Communications Act
  • Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act
  • Procurement Act
  • Radiation Protection Act

The Radiation Protection Act does not feature in the present SI 19/2014 or in any of the other SIs gazetted in the same issue of the Government Gazette.
