ORDER OF APPOINTMENT FOR THE PORTFOLIO COMMITTEES AND THEMATIC COMMITTEES
ORDERED IN TERMS STANDING ORDER NO. 18:
1) At the commencement of every session, there shall be as many Committees to be designated according to government policy as the Standing Rules and Orders Committee may deem fit.
(2) Each select committee shall be known by the portfolio determined for it by the Standing Rules and Orders Committee.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 The Committee on Defence, Home Affairs and Security Services had the opportunity to analyse the War Veterans Bill, [H.B 15, 2019] which was gazetted on the 1st of September, 2019. The Committee received mixed views on the Bill.

Report on the Status of Border Posts - Portfolio Committee on Defence, Home Affairs and Security Services

  1. INTRODUCTION.

There was a general outcry regarding smuggling of goods and precious minerals, human trafficking, delays in processing of travelling documents, rampant corruption and illegal exit and entry into the country, at various border posts. This has resulted in Government losing taxes and duties accordingly, hence, impacting negatively to economic development.
